Freelancing is a great way to make money as you can do the work almost anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home. Is there something you’re a professional at, be it social media marketing or programming? Fiverr makes freelancing easy with its ease of use and large user base.
How I met Fiverr
Specifically, every fourth person in the world uses Discord. It is especially popular among gamers and online communities. I’m more of a Signal fan, but since my friends use it, I was forced to use it too. I really liked the platform, I tried to write bots for my own server and it worked so well that I had to make one for each of my friends' servers. After a while, other people wrote to me that they wanted one. I thought about how it would be possible to earn money as a freelancer by writing a Discord bot, and it would be quite successful, so I started looking for the right freelance platform. I tried Freelancer, but it seemed too basic for me. Upwork threw up completely irrelevant jobs and you had to apply for them as the millionth applicant. Fiverr was the best among them. How does Fiverr work?
As a seller, you are able to create gigs (what can you do), and the customer orders it. You can set up different plans and custom orders too. One problem is that you have to get your gig in front of people, otherwise no one would buy it. In this blog, I will give you a few tips for this, which I have used and which have worked.
1. Cheap prices at the beginning
Customer reviews and satisfaction play a vital role on Fiverr. Fiverr’s algorithm ranks based on reviews. But how do I get reviews if I don’t have any customers? You can legitimately ask this question. There is a trick that worked for me. At the very beginning, it is worth setting the price of your gig as low as possible so that someone can send an order for almost pennies. Good service at a cheap price appeals to customers, who are more likely to give a higher rating. Of course, as soon as there are reviews and the algorithm starts to catch on, the price can be increased. I recommend that you collect at least 3 feedbacks and then slowly raise the prices!
2. Fiverr skill tests
Just as you can stand out with skill tests on LinkedIn, you can also test your skills on Fiverr. As soon as you take a test, a badge will appear on your profile and your profile traffic will be much higher. For me, after the English language test, the traffic and the number of orders tripled, so I highly recommend filling them out.
3. Always max out your profile
When you create a new gig, there is a lot of information to enter, such as gig pictures, FAQs, pricing plans, description and more. I recommend that you try to provide all the data, write as much as you can in your gig description. Max out every field! If your profile and gig are completely filled out, three good things happen:
- Google and other search engines are more likely to index you in their search results
- You will get higher ranking in Fiverr search
- Customers prefer more to order from you.
4. Cool gig images
Images are very important in promoting your Fiverr gig. Just think about it! What is the second thing customers see after the gig title? Of course the pictures! Try to make the pictures as beautiful and professional as possible. A video would also make a lot of difference in the visits. I always use Canva for image editing, because you can throw together very good marketing images in a few minutes.
